As a bank focused on using their money expertise for good, how do you provide a solution to help address South Africa’s youth unemployment crisis while positioning Nedbank as an enabler of youth potential?

Nedbank YouthX was created to help enable South Africa’s youth to realise their potential by giving them access to resources, inspiration and the ability to exchange through an online idea sharing platform. All in the name of helping them find a career and succeed in something they are passionate about.

Six prominent changemakers, all under the age of 35, including the likes of Rich Mnisi and Sho Madjozi provided the inspiration and spearheaded 6 categories (including Business & Finance, Sports & Wellness, Fashion & Beauty, Arts & Entertainment, Tech & innovation and Social Good & Sustainability) designed to provide free guidance and ultimately further the careers of those interacting.

YouthX Live, a series of live virtual events representing each category, gave free access to learn from the changemakers and industry and financial experts.  This lived alongside a web based app, the YouthX Change, which formed the always on element of the platform and shared exclusive content related to each category.

YouthX Awards ran throughout the campaign in a quest to reward young South Africans for innovative business ideas.  Winners were announced at the YouthX Summit which closed off the project and celebrated young South Africans making a positive change through their efforts.
