An athlete that ticked all the right association boxes and gave the brand a reason to appeal to a wider market was used extensively across marketing activity. The new flagship ambassador was placed at the centre of two of our three largest marketing campaigns as well as using him extensively throughout the year for dynamic content and stories.

A press release and social posts were published by New Balance, CSA and Bavuma with an accompanying content piece to launch the partnership.

PROTEAS TRAINING DAY

Bavuma was the lead ambassador for New Balance’s ‘Training Day’’ experience which gave 11 aspiring cricketers the opportunity to train with the Proteas staff and players. He featured prominently in the activation and content piece.

Bavuma played a vital role in the 2017/18 Proteas kit campaign – #BeProteas. He featured in the spearhead commercial and his surprise kit deliveries to three Proteas fans were packaged into a memorable content filler.

Throughout the year Bavuma was utilised for real-time reaction pieces from his performances and to promote New Balance cricket equipment, Proteas replica gear and training apparel to a wider audience.
