BRIDGESTONE TOKYO 2020 LAUNCH

We were commissioned to launch Bridgestone’s global ‘Chase your dream, no matter what’ Tokyo 2020 Olympics campaign locally, while unveiling their South African ambassadors.

The requirement was to land the motivational campaign that aims to encourage people of all ages, abilities, and passions to find the strength to chase their dream and overcome the obstacles they face on life’s journey, using Caster Semenya, Josia Thugwane, and Lawrence Brittain.

CREATIVE

The three national sporting heroes were revealed as Chase Your Dream, No Matter What ambassadors at the launch event at the CIRCA Gallery in Rosebank, Johannesburg. They each shared their unique and personal stories of how they overcame adversity to realise their dreams against the odds with media and key Bridgestone stakeholders. We provided the media with one-on-one opportunities with the ambassadors.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist middle-distance runner Caster Semenya shared the stage with Olympic silver medalist Lawrence Brittain, and the first black South African to win gold at the Olympic Games, marathon legend Josia Thugwane.

The event included the unveiling of artworks of the athletes and a chase your dreams message wall where the ambassadors interacted with attendees, followed by messages being extended into the social media realm as the public sent in their relative stories.
