Sport and Entertainment agency Levergy continued a stellar run of form at South Africa’s most prestigious awards shows in 2017 by taking home a gold Assegai for Integrated Direct Marketing Campaigns (R500 000 budget or less) for the New Balance Feel the Fire campaign. The Assegai awards, which take place annually, are run by the Direct Marketing Association of South Africa (DMASA) and honour excellence in direct marketing. In winning gold on the night, Levergy have become the first sponsorship agency to have won a gold Assegai.
Struan Campbell, Co-founder at Levergy, said, “We’re immensely proud of the recognition that the Feel the Fire campaign has brought both the New Balance brand and ourselves as an agency. The campaign worked very hard for New Balance and their sponsorship of Cricket South Africa and the Proteas. We owe a huge debt of thanks to all parties for their support in making the campaign a huge success.”
“The fact that we’ve won an award for an integrated campaign is special to us because it showcases our ability to activate across a variety of touch points for our clients. The Feel the Fire campaign content transcended TV, digital, retail, out of home and direct marketing, all of which was produced by the team at Levergy. The resulting impact this specific campaign had on the New Balance targets for Proteas jerseys last season was incredible,” added Levergy Communications Director Kieren Jacobsen. “The campaign concept we created is a great case study on marrying consumer and brand insights to solve a key business objective. We’re extremely proud of the work that was produced and the resulting recognition from the DMASA.”
